Daily life is challenging. It seems like we go through our days just completing tasks and doing chores.
Adding to the stress of getting all of our “stuff” done are the myriad of complicated relationships in our lives. Families, friends, coworkers; they all bring their own needs and stresses to the table. It can make life feels daunting.
In the midst of our stresses we can sometimes experience the stress of feeling like we aren’t living up to God’s expectations.
The naysayers of Christian belief can make us feel like we should passive so the stress of their attacks will just go away.
We have a source of strength, as Christ-followers, that others don’t have. As the saying goes, we are not bodies. We are spirits, we just have a body. Our spirits have the opportunity at all times to plug into God’s incredibly empowering strength.
God’s strength renews our spirits. It gives us hope. It gives us courage.
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41:10
We should always be on the lookout for our adversary, the devil. He comes to steal, kill, and destroy. He wants to disrupt our relationship with Christ but we must train ourselves to stand firm.
Ask God today for the courage to hold the line for Christ. Do not back down. Do not be afraid. We should have a fighting spirit that seeks to preserve our relationship with Christ. Our love for our neighbors as we love ourselves.
Are you feeling drained and weakened today? Is your spiritual strength weening?
Our hope is that this prayer will help you to reconnect with Christ in a way that makes you brave and bold to stand ready to battle the enemy today. Don’t let Satan steal your strength. Your ability to love. Your ability to forgive. Your desire to reach out to others.
Have the courage to fight in Christ’s name.
